6th Shanghai Stuttgart Symposium Automotive and Powertrain Technology

The 6th Shanghai Stuttgart Symposium is currently under planning. More information will be published shortly.

Here you may find a resport on the 5th Shanghai Stuttgart Symposium:

From October 21 to 22, 2021, FKFS in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart, the School of Automotive Studies of Tongji University as well as Messe Nanjing organized the 5th Shanghai-Stuttgart Symposium Automotive and Powertrain Technology.

The symposium addressed engineers and scientists of the automotive industry. For the first time, it took place as a hybrid event with participants on-site as well as online. With more than 60 presentations, the symposium offered the latest findings from research and development as well as a platform for an exchange of views between experts beyond Germany's and China’s borders.

In addition to technical presentations in four sessions, there were keynote speeches by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter F. Tropschuh of the Technical University of Munich and AUDI AG; Mr. Frank Klaas of Geely Europe; Mr. Gary Zhong of Infineon Technology Greater China; Prof. Dr. Hans Georg Engel, Daimler Greater China and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Bargende, Chairman of FKFS and Chair of Vehicle Drives at the IFS of the University of Stuttgart, among others.

The symposium concluded with a panel discussion on "Global Challenges for Developing Future Vehicles". Under the chairmanship of Dr. Xiong Lu from Tongji University, the following panelists discussed the topic, some of them from Stuttgart and others on site:

  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Wagner, IFS & FKFS;
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Bargende, IFS & FKFS;
  • Prof. Zhang Lijun, Tongji University;
  • Gary Zhong, Infineon Technologies Greater China; and
  • Prof. Dr. Hans Georg Engel, Daimler Greater China.

In this exciting constellation, the various aspects of globalization and German-Chinese cooperation were considered.

We would like to thank the speakers for their contributions and the organizers of Messe Nanjing and Tongji University for the excellent execution of this successful event in hybrid format!
