Hans-Jürgen Berner
Hans-Jürgen Berner is Head of Technology Assessment and Testing in the division of Automotive Powertrain Systems at FKFS. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart and joined the FKFS in 1992 as a research assistant in the field of gas engines. In 1995 he became group leader and in 1999 head of department for thermodynamics and combustion process development. His responsibilities included 1D-CFD simulation, ECU-function development and coordination of vehicle application. In 2008, he concentrated on hybrid drives with a focus on topologies and operating strategies. Since 2017, he has supported the management of Automotive Powertrain Systems as Managing Director.
