Development of a Test Bench for E-Motors which Should be Reburbished

Sebastian Dressel, BRIGHT Testing GmbH

As part of the REASSERT research project, used electric motors are to be reconditioned in accordance with the R strategy. BRIGHT has been commissioned to develop a test concept for assembled electric motors that provides information on the state of health of all installed components. With this test stand for the incoming inspection of electric motors received from the field, all relevant components are to be measured with regard to their state of health and expected service life. The challenge lies in the specific detection of faults and the allocation to the worn components in the system. The damaged components are then subsequently replaced or refurbished. In addition, a digital product passport is being developed that accompanies the electric motor throughout its entire life (from production to refurbishment to scrapping).
