Inner-city local transport with connections to rural areas will be a growth market in the future, taking into account ecological and economic conditions. Passenger transport must be guaranteed by cities and municipalities and to this end, individualized vehicles and customized timetables must be offered. AI, autonomous driving, adapted vehicle architectures, alternative drive systems and individual infrastructure will be necessary to fulfill the growth market in an economically and environmentally feasible manner. The intelligent use of buses, whether minibuses or articulated buses, saves resources and can offer individual passenger transport. Influences on the concept such as topography, urban planning conditions, time constraints, etc. must be taken into account and applied to all structures. The complexity of the coordinated offerings can solve the requirements and conditions on an individual basis. For example, bus manufacturers as global providers of a holistic concept of vehicles, AI, software, infrastructure, etc. will have to offer more than just a vehicle. In order to attract more people to local public transport, an intelligent and inexpensive offering will be necessary in the future. This is the only way we can relieve the burden on the environment and cities
