Prof. André Casal Kulzer
Prof. André Casal Kulzer was born in Coimbra, Portugal. He completed his studies in mechanical engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico, TU Lisbon from 1994 to 1999 and graduated with a diploma.
After receiving his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart in 2004, he held various management positions at Robert Bosch GmbH and Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, most recently as Head of Performance Development and Combustion Processes including the topics of regenerative fuels and electrified drive concepts at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG.
In 2004, Mr. Casal Kulzer received the TR 100 Young Innovator Award from MIT magazine "Technology Review" as "one of the world's top young innovators under 35" and in 2005 he was awarded the first prize of the Stuttgart Forum on the topic of transport and the environment. From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Casal Kulzer was already an invited assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade Aveiro in Portugal. He is fluent in German, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Prof. Casal Kulzer was appointed to the University of Stuttgart on January 1, 2022 and he is also a member of the board of management of FKFS.
