China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co.,Ltd (CAERI)

CAERI Wind Tunnels

Founded in March 1965, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd (CAERI) is a nationally recognized research institute, and transformed into a technology-oriented enterprise. CAERI was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange(stock code: SH601965) on June 11, 2012.

CAERI is mainly engaged in automotive R&D, consulting, testing, inspection and evaluation. It also has the production of special cars and components for rail transportation, automotive gas systems and parts, as well as the testing and inspection equipment for vehicle and component. After 50 years of development, CAERI has test laboratories covering vehicle safety, NVH, EMC, emission, EV, alternative fuel vehicle, chassis, engine, other auto parts, and two proving grounds.

Since October 2019, CAERI started to operating two new wind tunnels: an aero-acoustic wind tunnel (AAWT) and a climatic wind tunnel (CWT). The AAWT is designed for full-size passenger cars and vans. It features excellent acoustic and aerodynamic properties, as well as sophisticated equipment such as a five-belt turntable-balance-rolling road system, a boundary layer suction system, a traversing system, a set of acoustic treatment, and a three-dimensional microphone array. Meantime, CWT is constructed for full-scale cars, vans, buses, and trucks. It has accurate temperature, relative humidity, full-spectrum sun, rain, and snow control in addition it has reasonable aerodynamic properties.

After years of operation, the WT's functions have been enhanced. In June 2020, CAERI wind tunnel got WLTP certification from TUV NORD. In addition, CAERI developed several innovations, such as database and AI for drag prediction, digital wind tunnel (DWT), and smart WT for life time health monitoring management.

streamwise GmbH

Make the invisible visible
The real-time Sensor Tracking Velocimetry System (STV) ProCap transforms a probe into a magic wand, enabling you to analyse and measure even complex flow fields in real time.
The seamless interaction of all components allows to use the probe like a paint brush, painting the airflow on the computer screen. The measured 3D data is accessible in real-time, typically on a large screen or projected to a wall with good visibility during testing. The data is also available offline for further analysis.
A range of flow probes, tracking systems and accessories are available allowing to configure the system for applications ranging from wind tunnel testing to low-speed HVAC applications.
